Fair question......
The boat I had before the one I have now had PACEMAKER on the side. It was a branded name. The boat was a 19' CC.

The proud dog is named "Buster". He has passed on now but he belonged to Dan Lord who is a good friend of mine. That boat is now in the graveyard. Story and pix in the links below:

When I decided that I wanted to build a website, I kicked around a lot of names but "Pacemaker Fishing" kept coming to mind. Pacemaker has another meaning to me. When I managed the sales force at Pitney Bowes (DC office), a "Pacemaker" was a top producer. Achieving this status earned a week long all paid trip to some great places; I have been to Hawaii 3 times, Puerto Rico 2 times, Arizona, Florida (several locations).
So....the name stuck.
When the boat went down, I remember Curly telling me not to loose the name "PACEMAKER" for the website. Of course it stayed and that's the rest of the story!

I did put in a "pan pan" call which alerts boats in the area that we were in potential danger. We had one boat acknowledge that he was standing by for a possible rescue. But I knew I had a good bailing machine (Curly) so the call to the CG was never placed.
That is a memory that will last but does not need to be repeated!
