OK...what are your predictions at the airports? Here is mine.

Dulles- 19"
Reagan- 11"

I will check back Sunday to see who was closest. The winner gets an attaboy!      tongue

OK....all submissions must be in by midnight tonight.

I will award three "attaboys". One for each airport and a grand total!

I am hearing, historical, biblical etc....could be 20"+!

Andrew is one of those smart guys so I figured he was setting himself up for the "attaboy".

Re: Big snow coming!

I trust the weather gurus about as far as I can throw one of their satelites. I've gone to bed after the 11 pm news expecting "little or no accumulation",  only to get up in the morning wondering where my truck went  (31" total). That was President's Day 1979. And how many times have schools been closed in anticipation without a single flake falling. I sure hope their wrong this time.

I think it's all a conspiracy pulled on us by Giant and Safeway to clear their shelves before inventory.

Dulles 9
Reagan 11

Re: Big snow coming!

As of 11:25 PM, here are the predictions. i will update if necessary:

Pacemaker- 20.6 & 19.7
buckshot- 17 & 15
reskinsfan360- 18 & 18
Thai- 17 & 15
fishin4 food- 20 & 18
Osprey- 9 & 11
AndrewDo124- 12 & 14.1
Curly- 18 & 17

So, we will have a winner for each airport and then the Grand Prize winner will be the one with the least amount of difference in the totals.

Storm totals, not by date.

And counting....it is not supposed to let up until 7 tonight and they still expect flurries beyond that.

I think we have more than 8" so far.....

Re: Big snow coming!

Curly the Amateur Weatherman....nice!

I played "The Price Is Right" game with John Hill and topped his Dulles prediction by .6"and his Reagan by 1.7".

Fredericksburg is close to 20" already.

Current official totals at 12:30 pm:

Those seem low but it puts Andrew in the crosshairs!

A friend called form Falls Church/Arlington and he has way over a foot as of 10 AM.

Re: Big snow coming!

Those totals are way off.....no way they are right....we have over 2 feet in places....Curly even said so in a post.

BUT...these are the official total so:

Curly and redskninsfan360 get to share an "attaboy" for Dulles. Curly gets two more "attaboys" for Reagan and the total. Nicely done gents!
Don't spend those "attaboy" in one place.

Pacemaker and Osprey were the furthest off.....we were betting the outside lines....."hero" bets!

Now....time to get to work getting rid of this white stuff.

BTW, Cedar is fishable in a few choice places.

I'm not much for attaboys, I learned a long time ago that 1 aww chit wipes them all out and you have to start over. Today I learned that shovelling 2' of snow is actually a bigger pita than assembling and decorating a 10' fake tree. It's nice to know I'm not too old to learn new things. (or did I already learn this stuff and forget?)
I miss fishing already and I can't find my kayak.
