Dragon Report

Started out running the Dragon way up pass downed trees blocking the way.. Sadly found another boat already way up. So we started right there. Second cast and a chunky LGMouth nails a horny toad.. sweet and two more casts later the horny toad scores again with a slightly larger LGMouth but still not pic worthy. Then a blow up produces a nice pickle.. but the camera battery was dead. So we released it and I changed the battery.
From this point on it was hot for senkos and about 12 more LGMouth where caught by one guy on front of the boat.

Wind was kicking on the ride back at 5 pm..

Next day we had some rain and a different game plan.. I decided to fish for spot tail croaker and in earnest I did see some tailing reds but could not get them to hold the baits long enough to hook up. But we did get four nice fish..

Re: Dragon Report

Sure we depart on Friday night to my house in Gloucester. Snacks, drinks and some sleep, we awake to my daughter cooking a hearty breakfast and then we pack our lunch and drinks. Fish all day way up in Dragon and come back to the house to smell fresh baked cookies after a dinner of cheesy sliders and mango chicken. ( menu changes alot)  A couple of drinks and some Skip-Bo we crash and get up again in the wee hours to another hearty breakfast. Fishing the second day depends on wind if we can go out on the bay or main river. Second days have seen shark fishing / flounder fishing / striper's / drum / trout or as many request another day up in the Dragon.. So much to see and fish up there.  Back around mid-dayish.. Lunch before the long 2 hour drive home is always good.

Tips for the cook and a few words in the log book is all I ask.

Re: Dragon Report

That is a heck of a bargain for a weekend like that. I had a chance to stay at Capt Mike's place and fish in the Dragon with the NHBA guys over Labor Day. His house is awesome, right on the water with a big old dock and a great view. The food was great too, nothing like waking up at dawn to the smell of fresh home fries cooking. I'll shoot you an email this weekend Mike, I may be able to talk my girlfriend into doing a weekend trip down there with me (my idea of a "romantic getaway", hehe big_smile).
