Today, we (Carl and Jimmy) went out on my boat. I brought along the trolling motor so we could sneak up on the white perch.

As we drove to Annapolis, Carl announces that he has promised a substantial amount of white perch (WP) to his friend Fermin and family. I asked Carl how big the family was and it was big! We needed a hundred perch!

So we get to the launch and we are greeted by a group that is getting ready to go out to the bay for some big ones! When we told them we were going for WP, the Capt. snapped to attention........



....he said he loved WP. Little did he know! 

As Carl has mentioned and as I have posted, this is a really nice area (Spa Creek) that you pass by on the way to WP heaven!





As usual, Carl takes the skunk off the boat and Jimmy gets the next two. Me? I am just watching. It took me a few cast to find my game but I started to land them quickly.



Remember Tiki Bar? Well, here it is!



It's just a hut with a sigh that says "Free beer....tomorrow". Think about it for a minute.

As we pulled away from getting this picture, I got too close and the next thing I know, I have one of the bar stools dangling from my anchor gizmo. Jimmy had to make a quick dash and put it back before someone might start shooting at us.

This is one of the many fat 9-11 WP we caught today.



It got to the point where we would just throw them at Jimmy!!



As usual, Carl and I had a close race going. Carl took an 8 WP lead (after being down by 5) and it looked like it was all over but I kept fighting until the end.....but he outlasted me (we caught 97 between us) as he ended up taking me by 5 fish. The final tally was 111 fish, all of them WP except for 1 blue fish that Carl caught.



Once again, these were fat fish we were dealing with. There were some 9.5 inchers that felt like they were twelves....very healthy ad they are certainly eating their Wheaties.

Conditions today were very nice except for the wind which played havoc on my drifts. Having higher gunwales is great for the bay but not so nice when you want to slow drift. The wind pushes my boat faster than it does Carl's barge. Plus, working that stern trolling motor is a royal pain in the hiney. But no complaints, it was a great day and we caught a lot of big, fat WP!!

We made the WP transfer in front of an office building in Tysons's. I wonder what people thought as WP came flying out of my boat into Carl's cooler!

And speaking of Carl's barge, he has a new hull on order and it's being retrofitted as we speak He made some "adjustments" so that I don't come home bleeding every time I go fishing with him. Seriously, he will have an incredible river machine when he gets it back. Hopefully, he can keep it (don't know if it will fit in is garage).
