Got home with a little light left so I took out my brand new Mancini 7 wt fly rod and gave it a try. My casting was surprisingly good mainly because I just took 4 hours of casting lessons with Joe Cappazzola last Saturday.

I had several strikes (still figuring out the hook set) but I landed one .4 lb feisty blue gill.

It's hard to post fishing reports after Curly when he catches 22 bass in a lunch hour (I heard he came back a few days later and spanked them) but I am practicing my writing for when I start nailing these bad boys on the fly rod.

It was a bit chilly after the sun went down and windy but nice to whet a line!
