It was a beautiful, cool, 1st of September morning on the potomac.

the action was quick and early. Some other folks found our honey hole and messed us up a bit, but we managed five birds. Here is Allan with four of them.

Re: Opening day goose 2009

nice! I just got my hunting license and I cant wait to get out and hunt!  What are the rules for hunting on the Potomac because it is Maryland and Virginia Waters?  Do I have to get a Maryland License too?

Re: Opening day goose 2009

You have to have a Maryland License $130 plus state duck stamp $9 plus Federal $17

To hunt out of a boat you must have a Maryland resident with you. There are some WMA"s on a few of the islands that you can hunt on. There are also a lot of rules how far from houses and other blinds you can be. Read the regs.

Hope this helps. Good luck
