Trout fishing in Vermont summer 2009

Best prospects for Vermont trout fishing in years due to abundant rain (23 out of 30 days recently) which keeps
water temperature cool both in brooks, streams and ponds.

Fish are not lurking down below but are still feeding actively on surface taking dry flies, which is unusual in August.

Been a cool summer. My wife's window air conditioner has never been turned on so far in 2009. Two blankets needed
to stay warm nights.

Bill- welcome aboard and thanks for that "cool" report!

Sorry that we will not be having the CSA conference this year, I was looking forward to catching (or trying anyway) some nice trout.

I still have fond memories of catching my 1st brookie on a fly in the Ammonoosuc River right at the base of the Mt. Washington Inn!

Time to go fishin' again!
