8-10-08 Goose creek report

My brother and his family came in from Chicago for a visit. Mike and I spent a little time fishing goose creek. We caught lots of small 10" small and large mouth and had a ball. Just before the take out Mike get's hit hard and the battle was on. After a long battle he lands a 19" smallmouth. We did not take camera or cell phones because we did allot of wading, but I made him get his picture with this 19" piece of cedar shingle.
The fish was a great trophie for that section of river.

Nice!

BTW, If you do a lot of wading then you might be interested in a dry bag. I found some at Dick's near the kayaking stuff that work pretty well. I usually put my keys and my phone when I go wading.

I do have a couple of dry bags and they were nice'n dry in my garage. Poor planning on my part, but who would expect a fish like that on the hottest day of the year in August. The fish hit at 12:45 in the afternoon.
