7-25-09, Potomac River report and then some

Curly, Coz and I were on the water by 045 and fishing just a few minutes later. We entered the Washington Channel in anticipation of a top water bite. We got a little but not much. Curly struck first this smallie.....nice to see them in the WC!

....and then with this keeper striper on top. That is his 1st caught this way in the WC.

I followed with a 2 pound largemouth that hit a Stillwater Smack it!

After the sun came up, the top water bite was over and we switched to trolling. We got a hit on our 1st pass but he got off....a few minutes later, Patrick took control of the bouncing rod and brought in this weird looking smallie.

And then this striper!

A few passes later, another hit and Curly takes over......

....and lands this striper!

In the channel, we caught 5 stripers, 2 smallies and 1 largemouth. The bite just was not there so we headed over to the bridges....not before the fire guys came by.....

We fished the pilings hard and all we had t show were a few lost lures, a few bites, a small bass that I caught that Coz wouldn't count because he got off on the jump too far from the boat and this nice channel cat!

But....we saw some cool things.....City Limits fishing!!

And then....so true (Running Tab)!

Another excellent day on the water despite of a $50 parking ticket (which I will protest)!
