7-16-09 Solomons Island

Yesterday, at 5:00 am Mo and I launched at Solomons. Since the weatherman called for 10 to 20 mph winds, Solomons was not my choice. I was trying to sell Mo on the idea of launching at Broomes Island which is farther up the river. Well ---The water was smooth as glass! We fished the usual spots, with little success, and stopped at Mo's Cove. Things here were also slow but each time I suggested trying new territory we would catch a white perch. If we caught more than two fish Mo would announce that we had found the "honey hole". We eventually did some exploring up the river. We saw some beautiful scenery but the tide was at flood so things were destined to stop until the tide reversed. By ten o'clock we decided to head back to the ramp. I will be filleting this morning and I believe the count will be about thirty five. For whatever the reason, this number seems consistent each visit.
