cedar fri

drop shot still paying dividends

caught numerous average to decent fish around the drain w/ a zoom pumpkin finesse

does well on the rockpile as well, but losing eight rigs in two days get old

never took the time to use this method much, but i am getting a healthy respect for it

Re: cedar fri

I used to drop shot the Pavilion Lake because of used to be significantly clearer. Now, you dredge grass and algae and the presentation lost its luster.

I am still a fan though. A finesse presentation is my favorite, or at least it used to be, as now I am dedicating myself to bigger stuff for bigger fish. But you are right to adjust to the summer season.

Question - Are you finessing a drop shot with spinning tackle?

If it were easy, they'd call it catching!

Re: cedar fri

i throw it on either 4 or 6# line, on UL spinning gear

i prefer the 4, as it make long casts easy

i get them on the drain and the rockpile

we all know what happens on the rock pile, and it gets old, but you can really hit the bass there

the 6# line is vanish flouro, which, on a limber rod, is plenty strong.

it is far coarser than the trilene xl 4# mono i also use.
i have the flouro spooled now because it is a leftover i need to use up.

i use a finesse hook, 12 to 18" above a 1/8 bullet worm weight.
i use the bullet because they were the most for the cheapest.

i am impressed w/ how well this works
