Any interest in doing this float?
The plan calls for meeting at POR at 3 PMish to establish the shuttle. We should be on the water at Lander by 3:30 PM giving us a good 5 hour float (take out at 8:30 PMish). I can adjust the times if someone feels this is too tight.
I will be in my kayak.

I am in. I can bring my truck (the Tacoma) or I can borrow my dads tundra if needed for the shuttling. I do not think that I will be able to view any posts on the details of the float until next Saturday however....

I would not recomend floating from Lander to Point of Rocks in a jon boat. Surely not in a wooden boat (Charlie). We have to float over/around the Indian fish traps, you will hit rocks, the river is at 1.5'
You can't go up very far either, without a jet "Saw buck ledge is a couple 100yards up, however there is very good fishing around the launch from the down river side of saw buck to huffman rocks. Just plan on putting in and taking out at Lander.

Excellent!
I will post up the plan as soon as I think about it. OK...I'm thinking to meet at 3 PM at POR. That should give us enough time to float and retrieve the boats befofre it gets dark.

This was the outing I was looking forward to but my schedule just isn't cooperating. I have a 0645 flight Monday morning for a meeting in Albuquerque NM Monday afternoon and my sensible side is telling me I should be asleep early Sunday night. My sensible side doesn't always make the decisions so let's just say I'm a maybe.

Sorry, but I'm not going to make this one after all. My son Kevin has come up with a Sunday off and wants to try spending time in/on a kayak. We're off to the Point Lookout area Sunday where he's renting some sort of Hobie for the day. Rumor has it there are some good sized perch to be had in Smith Creek. We shall see. Hope you guys have a fun and safe afternoon up the river. Look forward to reading all about it.
