Put the kayak in at Capt. John's ramp around 10 AM and fished small tubes and beetle spins till 2 PM. Can't think of a better way to get your hopes up than an 11" perch on the second cast, but it was a loner. Catching was good all day, but all the rest were less than 6" Did get a nice spot and a croaker on the tubes.
There were leaves and tree limbs all along the road down there, must have been blasted last night. Also, the tide was way above normal kissing the top boards on all of the piers. During the time I was there it only dropped about 6". Must be an east wind on the bay holding the water back.

Years ago that rip rap on the North side of the island was fantastic. WP and small rock. And in the late August we always got spot tailed croaker off that rip rap on small jigs.
