Tonight I had the pleasure of teaching a new method of bass fishing to Jenna and Macy Kordon. Both of them love to fish, as does their dad Paul.
We decided to use a wacky worm with a circle hook.
I prepared their rods and instructed them how to use the bait, how to throw it and how to detect a fish. They paid attention because in no time, Jenna hooked up (she was using an UL rod too) with a nice bass!
She went on to catch several more bass using a Double Jack's worm rigged in the wacky mode. Once thing for sure, she paid attention to every detail and hooked the fish with no trouble. A couple of other fishermen walked by...I think they were impressed.
Macy was also rigged up on a wacky but she fished it Curly style...using just 1/2 of a 4 1/2" senko type baut. She too paid attention to the details and got into a nice 2+ pound fish. Her dad and I were so exited that we forgot to take a picture of the fish!
As it was getting tine to go, Macy wanted to catch a second fish but they were out of time...almost.
I showed her where to cast it and said "leave the bait sit on the bottom, you just hit a fish on the head and he's going to take the bait". Incredibly, it did and she hooked a nice one. Here she is bringing him in!
Now she's happy!
These kids can flat out fish....
