Okay, Day 2 started a little earlier (450am) wake up call, but we headed to a private location in search of Peacock Bass. On this day, we faced difficult 30+ mph East winds which caused a lot of trouble for managing the boat in unprotected water. We started the day quick twitching topwaters baits and soon hooked up with my first Peacock Bass ever. I am now part of the club. We decided to put the fish in the livewell for a mass photo shoot later on.

BTW, for those who have not fished and caught Peacock Bass the fight is saltwater-esque. Way better than LMB, way better than SMB.

Anyhow, it got really tough after the first couple of fish, so we switched it up by lodging the boat against the battered shore line, switched to shiners, and got nuts with the Peacocks.

My Dad then got things going proving that his shiner fishing skills are high.





I decided I wanted to get back into the action too, but not without my Dad. A nice double.



Then another double.



Then the culmination...our day on the water showing some males (red bump on head) and females for a final photo shoot. The biggest peacock went about 4lbs and man, what a fight, what a rush.



I couldn't have asked for a better trip, with a better person. The fishing was great, but the father/son time took the cake. Thanks to Capt. Frank Carbone. A final parting photo before we parted ways.
