Horsepan Lake...

Has anybody ever fished this lake? It is located between Old Ox Rd and the Greenway.

If it were easy, they'd call it catching!

Yeah, i would definitely make some calls to make sure you won't get arrested before you go out there.

Yes, it's a felony if you trespass there. Many years ago, I knew someone who worked for airport security and fished and hunted there. There are HUGE bass there and MASSIVE bucks like you have never seen before. Since theres no pressure, it's almost like a animal preserve.

Re: Horsepan Lake...

Patrick,

Here's a secret. The lake overflows into a small river across the street located below the hill. This river stretches for miles and might actually become a part of broad run.

When I was a kid, my dad used to take me to that river all the time because not many people knew about it. The fish that are in Horsepan Lake make it into that stream when there is alot of rain and floods the overflow tunnel, which connects the two bodies of water.

There are very big bass in that river and he has even caught chain pickeral and smallmouth out of there. Just fish near the fallen tress, which are plenty, and that's where all the fish hang out.
