the fish were off today.
the morning was fruitless. calm and cold. clear water.
no bites.
went back in the evening and managed a few small ones.
2 of them boiled on a senko swimming just under the surface. I simply could get any drop strikes, as had been the pattern thursday, or by using the drop twitch that was fooling the big'ns in the wind on friday .
i saw schools of bluegill swimming toward the creek, with 12" bass here and there. it was quite a procession, numbering at least a several hundred members, in the 25 minutes i watched it- while only getting one dink bass to bite.
so in three days i have fished three very different bodies of water, without leaving the same area.
i saw somebody get a decent bass across the way, maybe a couple pounds.

I may just throw the 4wt tomorrow and see if the blue gill will be receptive.......

I got out and tested a couple of the lakes yesterday (Heron and Pavilion). Nothing doing at Heron while I threw a jerkbait and senko (weightless). I saw a bunch of fish at Pavilion ranging from fingerlings to 2 lbs. I only landed a single fish (the bite was very slow and the fish were spooky) on a sexy shad crankbait #5. I plan on getting out again this evening (22nd)
