Warmer Weather

Is anybody going fishing anytime soon? March equals melting and more bites. I bet the Crappie will be in full effect this weekend!

If it were easy, they'd call it catching!

Re: Warmer Weather

I want to get out this PM but not sure but I will be slinging a fly rod tomorrow with a tandem crappie fly....need to practice casting and maybe catch a fish in the process.

Re: Warmer Weather

Would this be a sinking fly?

Re: Warmer Weather

The bottom fly will have a bead head or lead eyes (sinking) and the dropper fly will not have weight. I will use a strike indicator (fly talk for a small bobber like deal). The idea is to cover 2 depths in order to find the crappies. I will not move it much once in the water....just a twitch here and there.

The crappie could be moving around this weekend!

Re: Warmer Weather

I'll be on the river this weekend

fish should be starting to get more active and moving away from their deep dark winter hangouts

now it's yesterday! roll

Re: Warmer Weather

I look forward to fishing evenings with the clock change on Saturday night/Sunday morning. I will definitely get out Sunday, but hope to also get out a bit on Saturday. Tight lines!
