4-8-24, "O"

Bob and I met up at 7:45a....wait. Somehow, Waze dazed him and he was late (rare happening). But it's OK because it allowed the chill to leave us.

Also at the ramp were Don Pirro and Mark Koler. We would see Pete O'Dell fly fishing from his yak when we got up to the shad water. And, we saw Dave Gedra as we were getting ready to get lunch. He was fishing the afternoon shift with Don...that boy is hard core!

The water temp started at 51dF and ended at 54dF.

As always, we went up above the footbridge but we only caught 5 in an hour.

I could see Don and Mark catching some, as well as others. We finally went down and Don told me they had about a dozen each. :mad" We had some catching up to do. And we did!!

We each had one on!

And we both had doubles (I think I had 2).

One of the biggies (@17").

This one was just a hair bigger!

And then Bob added another 1/4" just 2-3 minutes later. My glory was short lived!

At some point, George texted me about some kimchi. It was good timing because Bob was ahead all day and I was chipping away. I did everything I could to catch him. He got some tangles, I was ready for the challenge!

Finally, around noon, I caught him. Now it was 35- to 35. But I got cold. He would catch 4 more to my 1 and we ended at 39-36. I would not let him get to 40 so I started the motor. trip don.

Lunch was good, as always!

Bob had the kielbasa (no more brats)  roll. I has a pulled chicken BBQ sammie.  Good stuff!

BTW, the unauthorized wind (was not predicted) kicked up around noon. It was becoming a PIA...mostly because my hands were tired and I was hungry! lol

Update- Don's afternoon was slow, hampered by the wind. They caught 20 in total.

Great job, guys!  I figured you would be out.  Good numbers and some bigguns.  I hope to have a boat tomorrow, so I can get in on the action soon.

These are the days of glory!  What a great area to be and it's always more fun when everyone is catching.

The double hookup fish look different.  Or is it just the kimchi?

Nice job getting out.
