One of the most iconic locations in America (and maybe the world) for aircrafts.  The boneyard as it is referred too is actually a storage location and not where planes go to die.  They hold the largest amount of aircrafts and missiles available for use as parts or to be put back in service.  Turbines and other engines are stored in large barrels with preservatives and planes are often brought back to service as needed.  These are all owned by the military departments and other agencies.  The old movies show people playing around them, but that was a long time ago.  The installation is off limits to the public and very secure (not even a general officer can just come aboard to "visit" without proper authorization).  Of course this location was selected due to it's natural non corrosive environment.  The only issue now is that with newer aircrafts using more composites....this will be a future challenge.
