Is this the Northwest River in NC? If so, there are some big bowfin in there but you would already know that.

Re: Northwest River adventure week.

The largest bowfin ever caught was reeled in by Robert L. Harmon on January 29, 1980, in South Carolina. It weighed a whopping 21 lbs. 8 oz!

Northwest has some 17 lbers for sure. And LGMouth to 10 lb...

5 years ago we caught over 60 LGMouth and 12 bowfin in one day. We fished 6 days and got skunked twice. But we figured it out by the 4 day.

Not sure I would even want to hook a 17lb bowfin. That would be a terrifying fight.
