LKA Stripers 7-17 and 7-18

Haven't posted in a while, so here we go.  Got out early yesterday morning and found breaking fish.  But they would not hit top water or a spoon.  They soon disappeared and I went looking again.  Ended up with 2 nice keepers trolling (no pic).  Since my freezer is full for our family, Id been saving frozen vacuum sealed fillets for the Louisa Resource Center (food bank).  Already had a box full for them and took it out.

Drove down to Louisa to drop it off and they were very happy to get them!

This morning I got out early again at 5:30 and found breaking fish in the same location.  This time they would eat my spoon!!! big_smile Caught 3 keepers within the first 15 minutes.  Had my limit of keepers before 7:30 and off the water before 8.

Have started another box of fish for the Resource Center smile .

Great stuff and good to see you can help provide food for those that need it!  Nothing like that early morning bite!

That is so cool...some folks are gonna eat some nice fillets! Well done!!

Talked about you yesterday with Bob while fishing.  I described this exact scenario to him: Curly gets up early (before the crowds), drives 200 yards to the boat and loads up gear, lowers the lift and off he goes. Then...catch 'em up and back for breakfast and a nap before 9a. big_smile

Time to go fishin' again!

Nice. Those are the best size stripers for eating.
